Visitation: 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM on Thursday, December 12, 2013 and from 10:00 AM until 5:00 PM on Friday, December 13, 2013 at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses.
Funeral Service: 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ulysses, Kansas with Reverend Peter Fernandez officiating.
Interment: Ulysses Cemetery in Ulysses, Kansas.


Vigil service will be held at 7:00 PM on Friday, December 13, 2013 at Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ulysses, Kansas.


Memorial contributions may be given to the Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant Ave, Ulysses, KS 67880.


Jose A. Ibarra, age 63, of Ulysses, Kansas died Thursday, December 5, 2013 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. He was born April 5, 1950 in Guadalupe Zacatecas, Mexico, the son of Jesus and Leocadia (Del Rio) Ibarra.


Jose grew up in Mexico and moved to Ulysses in 1977. He married Blanca E. Sosa on February 15, 1974 in Guadalupe, Zacatecas, Mexico. Jose worked at Ulysses Co-op, drove a truck for Pletcher Farms in Sharon Springs, Kansas, and then became an owner and operator of T&T Trucking. He was a member of Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church and Soldiers of Christ and enjoyed playing and watching sports. Jose dedicated his life to his family. He was a loving husband, proud father and an amazing grandfather. He will be missed.


He is survived by his wife, Blanca of the home; two sons, Antonio S. Ibarra of Ulysses, Kansas, Jose Ibarra Jr. of Ulysses, Kansas; one daughter, Elizabeth Contreras and husband Jason of Ulysses, Kansas; two brothers, Manuel Jesus Ibarra Del Rio, Ramon Ibarra Del Rio both of Mexico; two sisters, Maria Guadalupe Ibarra Del Rio, Alicia Ibarra Del Rio both of Mexico; and two grandchildren, Kaleah and Tyler Contreras. Jose is preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Juan and Jose Luis.
