Our History

Our History

Your Neighbors Since 1918.

While the history of Garnand Funeral Home began just as WWI was winding down, it started even before that. In 1910, a young Bryant Garnand arrived in Garden City and settled on a trade, working for A.R. Clark, a combination furniture shop, mortuary and flower store. By 1918, Bryant bought out Mr. Clark’s establishment, officially beginning our 100-plus-year run.

Our relationships stretch back generations all across Southwest Kansas and this is where we ourselves were born, grew up and now live. We personally know about 95% of the people we serve. So taking care of you and your family is about so much more than “business.” It’s about helping our friends through the most stressful experiences and helping them heal.

What makes us special
