Obituary for Cheryl G. Wears
Cheryl G. Wears, 64 died Thursday, April 2, 2015 at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City. She was born October 3, 1950 in Garden City the daughter of Clifford & Betty (Davis) Kells.
Cheryl has been a lifetime resident of Garden City. She attended Garden City schools and graduated from Garden City High School. Cheryl worked for more than 30 years for the City of Garden City utilities department. She worked most of her time as a meter reader.
On December 10, 1976, Cheryl married Paul Wears in Garden City. He died on July 30, 2013. She is also preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include a son Tanner Wears of Wichita, Kansas; a daughter Shannon Garza of Garden City, Kansas; a brother Larry D. Kells of Garden City; a sister Vickie Heeke of Garden City; and 7 grandchildren Juan Maldanado, Dezire Maldanado, Anna Maldanado, Alex Garza, Maryjane Garza, Shelby Wears, and Saleen Wears.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, April 6, 2015 at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Garden City with Pastor James Charles officiating. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Monday at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas. The family requests memorials given to the Cheryl Wears Memorial Fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home of Garden City.
