Obituary for Yashua Martinez
Yashua Martinez 27, died September 18, 2022 in Fremont (Dodge County) Nebraska. He was born June 7, 1995 the son of Jaime & Sandra De La Cruz (Ramirez Saldana) Martinez in San Antonio Texas at Willford Hall Medical Center at Lackland Air Force Base.
Yashua grew up in San Antonio Texas, where he graduated from Adams Elementary School, then Duluth High School, and later Georgia Tech with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, being listed on the President’s list of honors. His other educational accomplishments included Who’s Who Among American High School Students and National Honor Society. He was accepted to be part of the newly formed United States Space Force program as an officer. He was very close to his brothers and together they also shared many adventures, including winning the soccer championship in Mary Esther, Florida at St Mary Catholic School in 2004, under his father’s coaching instruction. His family was in awe of his determination to succeed, brilliant mind, daring nature, competitive drive, and noble heart. He enjoyed grilling, playing basketball, and running. His beautiful smile illuminated the room and the hearts of those who love him.
Survivors include his mother-Sandra De La Cruz Ramirez Saldana; father-Jaime Martinez; siblings-Lance Martinez, Eduardo Martinez & Katia Martinez; grandparents-Martha Saldana & Erasto Martinez and Maria Avelina Cervantes de Martinez & numerous cousins, aunts & uncles. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather-Jose Antonio Martinez Rojas.
A Rosary will be held at 9:30 am followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 on Saturday October 1, 2022 at St Mary Catholic Church with Father Jacob Schneider as Celebrant, and broadcast live on the St Mary Catholic Church Facebook page. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery.
