Obituary for Valeta Jo "Val" Elliott
Valeta Jo “Val” Elliott, age 57, passed away on Sunday April 3, 2022. She was born on August 15, 1964 in Garden City, Kansas to Charlotte E. Elliott and the late Loren G. Elliott.
Val was raised here in Garden City, Kansas where she attended local schools and graduated from GCHS in 1982.
Val began working at the Garden City Telegram after High School then went on to work at Fry Eye Center for 25 years. She worked in the Dietary Department for sometime in White Cloud, Nebraska, then worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant in Beloit, Kansas, Burr Oak, Kansas, Jewell, Kansas and prior to moving back home she worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant in Mankato, Kansas.
Val’s favorite pastime was spending time with her nephews and nieces and her precious dog J.J. Her Hobbies were: spending time with family, fishing, and listening to music.
Val is survived by her Mother- Charlotte E. Elliott, Sister- Dee Adams of Garden City, Kansas Brothers- Kyle Elliott of Mesa, Arizona, Chad Elliott, and Bruce Elliott both of Garden City, Kansas, as well as all of her nieces, nephews, and her precious dog J.J.
She was preceded in death by her Father- Loren G. Elliott, Grandparents- Ralph and Esther Elliott, Charles and Jean Esklund, 2 Uncles- Lawrence and Warren Elliott, and 4 Cousins- Bob, Bill, and Brad Elliott, and Justin House.
A Memorial Service will be held on May 21, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas with Jeff Crist officiating. A private family interment will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Val Elliott Memorial Fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home.
