Teresa Huerta, 80, died Wednesday May 26, 2021 at St Catherine Hospital in Garden City. She was born October 3, 1940 in Sombrerete, Zacatecas, Mexico the daughter of Juventino and Juana (Pacheco) Reyes.

Teresa was born, raised and attended school in Mexico. She married Sebastian Huerta in 1958 and together they raised 11 Children-Esther Huerta of Garden City, Jose Manuel Huerta of Garden City, Bacilio (Maria) Huerta of Garden City, Betty (Miguel) Huerta of Garden City, Veneranda (Carlos) Diaz of California, Ruben (Ida) Huerta of Texas, Perfecto (Sandra) Huerta, Serafin (Melissa) Huerta of Garden City, Petra (Jaime) Castro of Garden City, Laura Huerta of Garden City, & Marco Antonio (Angie) Huerta of Garden City. She was a devoted wife, attentive mother, fabulous cook, loving grandmother and genuine soul. She enjoyed listening to music and loved to dance.

In addition to her children she is survived by 35 Grandchildren; 28 Great Grandchildren; Siblings-Julia Reyes, Francisca Reyes, Maria de La Luz Reyes, Cristina Reyes and Delia Reyes & numerous Nieces and Nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and Siblings-Juan Reyes, Pilar Reyes, Roberto Reyes, Cruz Huerta & Vidal Reyes.

A Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 am Friday June 4, 2021 at St Mary Catholic Church with Father Jacob Schneider as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Valley view Cemetery. Visitation will take place 10:00 am to 8:00 pm Thursday June 3, 2021 and Rosary at 6:00 pm all at Garnand Funeral Home of Garden City. The family suggest memorials to the Teresa Huerta Memorial Fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 412 N 7th Street, Garden City, Kansas 67846
