Obituary for Steve Lucero

Juan “Steve” Lucero, 79, died May 15, 2021 in Garden City, Kansas. He was born December 30, 1941 to John and Bernice (Peralta) Lucero in Greeley Colorado.

Steve was born, raised and attended schools in Greeley, Colorado. It was also there that he met and married Mary Celina “Sally” Lucero. She preceded him in death May 31, 2020. Their children are comforted in the knowledge that they are together once again. He had worked at Tyson for 20+ years before retiring in July of 2020. He and Sally shared many interests and adventures including camping, fishing, hunting, cheering on the Denver Broncos, raising a family and watching their grandchildren grow.

He is survived by his Children-Lonnie (Tiffany) Lucero of Pierceville, Lisa (Jerry) Brown of Arizona, Gina (Robby) Lucero of Garden City & Steven (Nicole) Lucero of South Dakota, 16 Grandchildren and 12 Great Grandchildren; Siblings-Freddie Lucero, Christy Lucero, Susie Rollison, Esther Lucero, Cathy Lucero, Rita Lucero & Rosie Garcia. In addition to his Wife and Parents, he was preceded in death by Siblings- Robert Lucero, Delmo Lucero, Johnny Lucero, Betty Pino, Helen Lope & Danny Lucero

A Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 am Friday May 28, 2021 at St Mary Catholic Church with Father Jacob Schneider as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday May 27, 2021, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm at Garnand Funeral Home. The family suggests memorials to St. Mary Catholic Church in Care of Garnand Funeral Home, 412 N 7th Street, Garden City, Kansas.
