Obituary for Stanley G. Katz
Stanley G. Katz, died Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas. He was born November 5, 1951, in Garden City, Kansas the son of Clarence & Mary (Mader) Katz.
Stanley was raised on a farm on the Finney and Kearny County line until he was in 7th grade He then moved to Garden City where he graduated from Garden City High School in 1971. After graduation he attended Seward County Community College where he got a degree as a mechanic. In 1974 he began working at Burtis Motor in Garden City. In 1978 he became owner and operator of Garden City Roofing where he worked until his retirement in 2016. He was a past member of the Pond Association in Garden City. Stanley enjoyed hunting with his friends and pottery work.
Survivors include his wife Linda Katz of the home; 3 Grandchildren Lenora Kent, Deanna Ramsey and Prayer Reifschneider; 2 sisters Jolene Katz and Tracy Brown; 2 Great-Grandchildren and many Nieces & Nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; a step-son J.T. Kent; 2 brothers Jerry Katz & John Katz.
Burial will be set for a later date. There are no callings hours. Family suggest that memorials be made to The Friends Of Lee Richardson Zoo in care of Garnand Funeral Home Garden City.
