Obituary for Sandra Romo
Sandra Romo, 52, died Monday April 12, 2021 at her home in Garden City, Kansas. She was born July 4, 1968 in Parral, Mexico . She married Raul Romo on September 16, 1984. He survives.
Mrs. Romo came to the United States at a young age. She and a couple of her siblings lived their formative years at a convent in Nebraska. It was there that her nurturing side developed. She was the owner/licensed operator of “Over the Rainbow Daycare” for over 25 years. She was always looking for ways to serve others. She made Christmas baskets for her cancer nurses, grandchildren or daycare children, or care packages for the most needy in our community. She loved to shop, especially for her husband. She touched many lives including those of her family, friends, caregivers and the countless children who went through her daycare. Her pure heart knew no boundaries for giving, without expecting anything in return.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her Children-Marcos (Olga) Romo, Lorena (Miguel) Montoya, Leticia (Arric Holmes) & Michael (Bianca Perez) Romo; 16 Grandchildren; Siblings Juana Garcia, Marisela Chavez, Veronica Chavez, Ana Laura Hernandez, Stephanie Chavez Ruiz, Carlos Hernandez Holguin & Arturo Holguin; Father-Pablo Chavez & Mother- Rafaela Holguin
Visitation will take place 3-5 pm Tuesday April 13, 2021 at Garnand Funeral Home & 7:30 pm Rosary to follow at St. Mary Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be held 12:00pm Wednesday April 14, 2021 also at St Mary Catholic Church with Father Jacob Schneider officiating. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery.
