Obituary for Sandra Kay "Sandy" Mott

Sandra Kay “Sandy” Mott, of Pierceville, Kansas went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at the age of 63. Sandy was born January 26, 1958 in Garden City, Kansas the daughter of Ronald and Eva (Burgin) Mott.

Sandy graduated from Garden City High School in 1976 and attended Garden City Community College. She then managed the Drive-Inn Theatre in Garden City for many years. She then moved to Great Bend, Kansas to manage a convenience store. Later, Sandy moved to Mt. Hope, Kansas where she worked for Walgreens. Missing the farm and her family, she moved back home and worked for Target. In her spare time, she liked to help her dad on the farm and was her parent’s “Uber” driver.

Sandy loved many things; Jesus, her family, friends, animals especially pugs, writing poems, and in her younger years she enjoyed 4-H barrel racing. She had a very giving heart and would organize coat drives and give money to others when she was barely getting by herself. Sandy battled on conquered Leukemia and was making plans to do whatever she could to help the homeless.

Survivors include two sisters Vicki Hunter and husband Mike of Garden City and Rhonda Mott of Garden City; two nephews who she was very proud of; Justin Wasmuth and wife Valerie of Marion, Kansas and Tyler Wasmuth and wife Tosha of Jacksonville, Florida; and six great-nieces and nephews Delaney Wasmuth, Gavin Wasmuth, Liran Wasmuth, Hudson Wasmuth, Connor Wasmuth, & Magnuson Wasmuth. Sandy is preceded in death by her parents and a brother Edwin Mott.

A Celebration of Sandy’s Life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 4, 2021 at Pierceville Federated Church in Pierceville, Kansas with Chaplain Michael Gonzalez officiating. The service may also be viewed on Facebook Live on the Garnand Funeral Home Facebook page. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials given to Pierceville Federated Church, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, or Special Olympics all in care of Garnand Funeral Home of Garden City.
