Obituary for Sabas G Sepulveda
Sabas G Sepulveda, 82, died January 15, 2021 at the Ranch House Senior Living in Garden City, Kansas. He was born December 5, 1938 the son of Teodolo and Flora (Rodriguez) Sepulveda in Monterrey, Mexico.
Sabas came to the United States in the 70’s. He met Herlinda Salazar and married her on September 29, 1979 in Mission Texas. She survives. He was mechanically inclined. He could build and design many things.. both of his own invention and other’s ideas from scratch. Among his creations were a bridge in his native hometown, an air conditioner built from an old radiator, and refurbished old-style radios. His family describes him as a MacGyver of sorts, many times he would fix car problems with ordinary household items. Not only would he give the shirt off his back for family, he would have gladly given his own life to save theirs.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his sons-Juan (Katie) Sepulveda and Ricardo (Victoria) Sepulveda; grandchildren-Ruben, Eliza, Raquel, Christina, Damien, Esmeralda, Jasmin, Martin & Ernesto; great grandchildren-Everret, Xoli & Demetri & siblings- Bonifacio and Dolores Sepulveda.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings- Jesus and Jose Sepulveda.
Public Visitation will be held 11 am to 8 pm Saturday January 23, 2021 at Garnand Funeral Home, 412 N 7th Street. No Funeral Service will be held at the present time. A burial will be held at a later date in Texas. The family suggests memorials to the Sabas G. Sepulveda Memorial Fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 412 N 7th Street, Garden City, KS. 67846.
