Rosa Maria Martinez Castaneda died March 19, 2022 at St Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas. She was born September 1, 1968 in Gomez Palacio, Durango, Mexico the daughter of Cecilio Martinez Villalobos and Francisca Castaneda Rocha.

Rosa grew up and graduated from high school in Mexico before coming to the United States as a young lady, first to California and later settling in Garden City. She enjoyed cooking and her family enjoyed eating her meals on a daily basis. She kept a meticulously clean home for her family and pets, Sofia and Tiny. Her other love in life included nurturing her rose bushes.

Rosa is survived by her daughters- Ana Karen Leyva and Daniela Leyva; Husband-Martin Hernandez; Step-Sons- Marco Hernandez and Juan Hernandez; Siblings- Virginia Martinez Castaneda, Josefina Martinez Castaneda, Maria de Lourdes Martinez Castaneda, Gerardo Martinez Castaneda, Cecilia Martinez Castaneda, Beatriz Martinez Castaneda, Alicia Martinez Castaneda, Rocio Martinez Castaneda, Francisca Martinez Castaneda, Adriana Martinez Castaneda, Maria de Jesus Martinez Castaneda and Monica Martinez & numerous extended family. She was preceded in death by her Parents and Siblings- Rosi Martinez Castaneda, Maria Teresa Martinez Castaneda & Juan Martinez Castaneda.

Visitation will be 11:00 am-5:00 pm Monday March 28, 2022 at Garnand Funeral Home with a 6:00 pm Rosary following at St Mary Catholic Church. A Funeral Mass will be 11:00 am Tuesday March 29, 2022 also at St Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Jacob Schneider as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery.
