Obituary for Robert R. "Bob" Meyer
Robert R Meyer (Bob) 73, was born on March 20, 1949, to Virgil R Meyer and Beulah E Gerber Meyer. He passed from this life on August 10, 2022.
Bob was employed with The City of Garden City as a Draftsman for 30 years retiring in 2008. Bob was a remarkable artist. His family and friends looked forward to receiving his Christmas cards which he drew each year. In addition to drawing, Bob enjoyed making miniature western villages built to scale. His work on them was amazing. Bob also had a love for the history of Garden City. He could tell you where all the original dugout homes were located south of Garden City.
Bob is survived by his sister Mary Ann Meyer Johnson (Bud), Garden City, a brother, Ronald L Meyer (Susan), Cypress, TX and a sister, Deborah J. Meyer Blade, McKinney, TX, Nieces, Janene Radke, Brooke Meyer, Stephanie Meyer and Nicole Blade, Nephews, Travis Blade, Derek Blade and Kirk Blade, 3 great nieces, 1 great nephew, and numerous cousins.
Preceding him in death were his parents and nephew, Scott M. Johnson.
Graveside services will be on September 10, 2022 at 10:30 am, Valley View Cemetery, with Father Warren Stecklein officiating. Garnand Funeral Home will be in charge. Memorials to the Historical Society are suggested in the care of Garnand Funeral Home.
