Obituary for Randall R. "Randy" Carr
Randall R. “Randy” Carr, 67, of Garden City, died on Monday, August 24, 2020 at Garden Valley Retirement Village in Garden City. He was born August 17, 1953 in Garden City the son of Norman George Carr, Sr. and Edith Leora (Stinemetz) Carr.
Randy has been a lifetime resident of Garden City where he attended Garden City schools. He worked for many years as a lab tech at the Garden City water treatment plant. He later worked in maintenance at Bible Christian Church. He married Susan Motley in Garden City, Kansas. Randy was a member of Bible Christian Church in Garden City and he enjoyed photography and car racing.
Survivors include a son Jeff & wife Jenny Mitchell of Garden City; his mother Edith Carr of Garden City; two brothers David & wife Nancy Carr of Garden City and Monte & wife Kris Carr of Lakin, Kansas; and eight grandchildren. Randy is preceded in death by his father and a brother Norman George Carr, Jr.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2020 at Bible Christian Church in Garden City with Pastor Brian Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at the Lakin Cemetery in Lakin, Kansas. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday and from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday all at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City. The family suggests memorials given to the Randy Carr Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
