Obituary for Porfirio Roman Salas
Porfirio Roman Salas, 80, died Tuesday February 16, 2021 at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas. He was born September 15, 1940 in Vicente Guerrero, Durango, Mexico the son of Bernardino and Paula (Salas) Roman.
Mr Roman Salas was a farmer in Mexico prior to coming to the United States over 30 years ago. He and his wife Emilia had been married over 60 years and raised 10 children. Later they were fortunate enough to welcome 20 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren into their family. He was a jokester and talented singer/songwriter.
He is survived by his Wife-Emilia Roman; Children-Manuel Roman, Tomas Roman, Martha Balderrama, Julia Roman Ibarra, David Roman, Rosalio Roman, Jose C. Roman, Angelica Roman, Francisco Roman and Marisa Roman; 20 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass be held Thursday February 25, 2021 at 10:30 am at St. Mary Catholic Church. Visitation will follow from 12:00-8:00 pm at Garnand Funeral Home of Garden City, also Thursday. Burial will take place at a later date in Durango, Mexico.
