Garden City- Philip K. Loyd, 74, died on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at his home in Garden City.
He was born on October 4, 1948 at Cedar Vale the son of Joseph M. & Lena Marie (Palmer)
Loyd. He married Mary M. Cox on November 1, 1972 at Miami, Oklahoma.
Philip lived in several different places growing up while his father followed the oil patches and
graduated from Big Piney High School in Wyoming. He moved back to Kansas and worked as a
Tool Pusher for Cheyenne Drilling for over 30 years. His special interest was hunting of all
kinds.
He is survived by his Wife- Mary M. Loyd, Daughter- Shannon K. Olson of Carlock, Illinois, Son-
Wes Loyd of Garden City, 2 Half Sisters- Carol Gates and Margaret Logsdon both of
Arkansas City and 1 Grandson. He is preceded in death by his Parents and 1 Grandson.
