Obituary for Paige Malynn Dorzweiler

Paige Malynn Dorzweiler, 29, passed away on Monday, January 25, 2021 at the Kearny County Hospital in Lakin, Kansas. She was born July 3, 1991 in Garden City, Kansas the daughter of Robin J. & Sandra “Sandy” (Talbert) Russell.

Paige has lived most of her life in Garden City. She attended Garden City school and graduated from Garden City High School in 2010. She then attended and graduated with an Associate’s degree from Garden City Community College in 2012. Paige then went on to Kansas State University, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Family Studies and Human Services. On January 4, 2014, she married Joshua Taylor Dorzweiler in Garden City, Kansas. While living in Manhattan, Paige worked as a Paraprofessional at Head Start. In 2016, she moved to Garden City where she worked as a teacher at Head Start for the school year 2016-2017. In 2017, Paige and Joshua moved to North Carolina and returned to Garden City in 2019. She has continued to work on her Master’s degree. Paige was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Garden City, and she loved being a mother and friend.

Survivors include her husband Joshua of the home; a daughter Shay M’Lynne Dorzweiler of the home; a son Wesley Wade Dorzweiler of the home; her mother Sandra “Sandy” Russell of Garden City; her grandmothers Shirley J. Talbert of Garden City and Shirley A. Russell of Garden City; and an uncle Ryan J. Russell of Wichita, Kansas. Paige is preceded in death by her father Robin J. Russell and her grandfathers Edwin L. Talbert and Robert L. Russell.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at the First United Methodist Church in Garden City with Rev. Joel Plisek officiating. The service may also be viewed on Facebook Live on the Garnand Funeral Home Facebook page. Friends may call from Noon to 8:00 p.m. on Friday and from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday all at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials given to Friends of Lee Richardson Zoo or to the Paige Dorzweiler Children’s Education Fund, both in care of the funeral home.
