Obituary for Marlan D. Wilson

Garden City- Marlan D. Wilson, 79, died on Monday, October 26, 2020 at his home in Garden City. He was born on February 8, 1941 at Breckenridge, Minnesota the son of George Cooper & Eleanor Bernice (Peterson) Wilson. He married Ann M. Pearson on November 6, 1989 at Enid, Oklahoma.

Marlan graduated from Moorhead, Minnesota High School in 1959 and attended North Dakota State University for two years. He served in the United States Army for two years and was stationed in Germany for Army Intelligence. He spent his working life as a Highway Engineer for Popejoy Construction in Ulysses and Enid and them for Richie Paving in Wichita. He moved to Garden City after retiring where he enjoyed playing golf with his grandchildren and family and was very involved with the fundraisers at the Elk Lodge. He was a member of Elks Lodge # 1404 or Garden City and the Shriners.

He is survived by his Children- Nancy Norwood of Fargo, North Dakota, Michael Wilson of Mankato, Minnesota, Penny Ann Nichols of Garden City, Stacey Keele of Missoula, Montana and Richard Keele of Holland, Texas, Sister- Susan Wilson Cowan of Fiddletown, California, Half Sister- Carol Wilson of Shepherd, Montana and 9 Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Sister- Lois Wilson Isaak and Half Brother- George G. Wilson.

Celebration Of Life Service will be at 5:30 PM Saturday at Elks Lodge # 1404 in Garden City. Burial will be at Standing Rock Cemetery in Fort Ransom, North Dakota.
