Obituary for Marie Loving
Marie Loving, 95, died on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at Garden Valley Retirement Village in Garden City. She was born on August 10, 1926 at Cullman, Alabama the daughter of Joseph & Dovie (Williamson) Schwaiger. She married Burl Lee Loving on August 5, 1947 at Garden City. He died on December 14, 2020.
Marie moved to Garden City with her family at a young age. Her mother died at a young age and Marie being the oldest took care of her bothers and sisters which started a life long passion as the family caregiver. She was a member of the Church Of The Brethren of Garden City where she taught Sunday School for many years. She also held all the offices of the EHU and belonged to the Eagles Lodge, Moose Lodge and VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed fishing with her husband, her rose garden, collecting chickens and most of all her activities with family and friends.
She is survived by her 2 Daughters- Becky Loving and Peggy & Don Dreiling and 2 Sons- Rod & Lisa Loving and Michael J. Loving all of Garden City, Sister- Maggie Fuller of Garden City, 12 Grandchildren- Tammy Loving, Lorie Calderon, Mary Jo Ortiz, Dan Dreiling, Rachel Loving, Mattie Purdy & Eric Collier all of Garden City, Barton Loving of Omaha, Nebraska, Tina Guhr of Dodge City, Nathan Collier of Emporia, Nick Collier of Eudora and Nolan Collier of Midland, Texas, 29 Great-Grandchildren and 6 Great-Great-Grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, 3 Sisters- Helen Michel, Josephine Wilken & Esther Murdock, Brother- Jody Schwaiger and Granddaughter- Angelic Dreiling.
Funeral Service will be at 10:00 AM Monday at Church Of The Brethren with Rev Bob Bates officiating. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery.
