Maria Elena Ramirez, 90, passed away peacefully Saturday December 5, 2020 in the comfort of her home in Garden City Kansas. She was born September 11, 1930 in Marlin Texas the daughter of the late Daniel and Josephine Willars.
She was united in marriage to Manuel Ramirez on December 11, 1951 in Plainview Texas. Together they built a solid foundation for their children. She served her husband, children and God with her unconditional love. She loved her children equally but devoted her life to the loving care of her disabled son, whom she nurtured selflessly, even in her advanced age. She felt God had given her the special privilege of being his mother. Her many talents included beautiful works of embroidery and quilting and making sure her family was well fed with one of her delicious meals.
She is survived by her children-Anna (Pete) Gallardo of Warrenville, South Carolina, Teresa (Efraim) Picazo of Garden City, Irene (Tim) Rome of Garden City, Lutilda Guebara of Amarillo, TX, and Esiquio Ramirez. of Garden City; Siblings-Francis Martin & Olivia Cunningham; 12 Grandchildren & 25 Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her Husband-Manuel Ramirez; Son-Raul Manuel Ramirez; Siblings-Russell Willis; Marie Montiel; and Tony Willars; Parents; Grandson-Thomas Gallardo & Great Grandson -AJ Rascon.
A Rosary will be held 9:30 am and Mass of The Resurrection to follow 10:00 am both on Thursday December 10, 2020 at St Mary Catholic and broadcast live via the Garnand Funeral Home Facebook Page with Father Jacob Schneider as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery. Friends may call 12:00-8:00pm Wednesday December 9, 2020 at Garnand Funeral Home of Garden City. Memorials are suggested to St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
