Maria Elena Negron-Padilla, 72, died Saturday August 29, 2020 at her home in Garden City, Kansas. She was born August 18, 1948 in Queretaro, Mexico the daughter of Epigmenio & Ana Maria (Ramirez) Martinez.

Maria Elena was born, raised and attended schools in Mexico. She met Joaquin-Negron Padilla, they courted and were married on December 11, 1971. He survives. She was a homemaker for most of her adult life, raising 3 children and a working husband. She learned sign language worked with the hearing impaired as a Special Education Paraprofessional at Garden City Senior High. Her favorite hobbies were painting and spending time with her family

In addition to her husband she is survived by her Children-Josue (Andrea) Negron, Jessilyn (Joel) A. Negron-Appel, & Ricardo Negron; Siblings- Griselda Martinez, Ana Rosa Martinez, Carlos Martinez, & Armando Martinez and 8 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her Parents-Epigmenio and Ana Maria Martinez & Siblings- Hector Martinez, and Angelica Martinez.

A Liturgical Service will be 4:00 pm Thursday September 3, 2020 at Garnand Funeral Home of Garden City with Rev. Jacob Schneider as Celebrant. Burial will take place at a later date.
