Maria Concepcion “Concha” Diaz, 54, died at KU Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas, on March 8, 2021. She was born November 27, 1966 in Meoqui, Chihuahua, Mexico the daughter of Jesus and Francisca (Duran) Camarillo.

Concha was raised in Mexico and moved to the United States to be closer to family in 1987. She met and married Salvador Diaz in Garden City in 1989. Together they raised 4 children. She had worked in the food service industry as a cook, first at Kentucky Fried Chicken and later at Wendy’s. She enjoyed dancing, caring for her dogs, Ace and Chooky, and family. She was especially proud of her children and their professional accomplishments. Her greatest joy was the times she spent with her grandchildren. She was a devout Catholic and member of St. Mary Catholic Church. She will be remembered for her smile and contagious laugh.

She is survived by her Husband-Salvador Diaz Sr, Children- Salvador Diaz Jr. Ivan (Kaitlin) Diaz, Mireya Diaz (Collin) Bulkley, & Emily Diaz; Grandchildren-Hayvnn Diaz, Grey Diaz & Salvador Diaz IV; Father- Jesus Camarillo; Siblings- Lidia Garcia, Velia (Roman) Moreno, Raul (Sylvia) Camarillo, Maria (Gregorio) Olivas, Antonia (Enrique) Urquidi, Jesus Francisco Camarillo, Apolonio (Aurora) Camarillo, Susana (Javier) Almaraz, Roberto Carlos (Griselda) Camarillo & 20 + nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her Mother-Francisca Duran de Camarillo; Niece -Claudia Almaraz & Nephews- Gustavo Garcia Jr. & Apolonio Camarillo Jr.

A Rosary would be held 7:30pm on Thursday March 11, 2021 and Funeral Mass 1:00 pm Friday March 12, 2021 both at St Mary Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm Thursday March 11, 2021 at Garnand Funeral Home.
