Obituary for Lucas Traugott
Lucas Traugott, 41, of Dodge City, died Tuesday, May 10, 2022 in Dodge City.
He was born March 24, 1981 in Garden City, KS to Mary and David Traugott. He attended Garden City High School.
On November 11, 2011 he married Catie Beardshear in Dodge City, KS. His proudest moment was the day his daughter, Ambrielle, was born. For a time, Lucas worked at Curtis Engineering in Dodge City where he gained the knowledge and skills to be a CNC operator. For more than 10 years, Lucas enjoyed being his own boss as a contractor for Mortgage Bankers Field Services.
Lucas was full of life and love for his family and his dogs. He often quoted lines from comedy movies and enjoyed working on his vehicles, making them as unique as him. In spite of trials and challenges, Lucas had faith that God would lead and guide him and his loved ones.
He was always willing to offer a helping hand when needed, especially for his mother Mary and grandma Jola. One time he helped push a stranger’s car up the hill in his Yukon when it was snowing. He enjoyed cooking and creating new dishes. Family members include his mother Mary Traugott of Garden City, his father and step-mother David and Gail Traugott of Colorado Springs, a daughter Ambrielle Traugott of Dodge City and her mother Catie, a sister Alison Bottom of California, a sister and brother-in-law Sara and Mark McClure of Garden City. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Barney and Jola Kraus, and Darel and Thelma Traugott. Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 20, 2022, at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City with burial to follow at Valley View Cemetery.
