Obituary for Linda Gail Greer
Linda Gail Greer, 59, died Friday January 6, 2023 in Rochester Minnesota. She was born March 4th, 1963 in Grand Rapids, Michigan the daughter of Patricia Jane Vaughn and Melvin Lee Hoezee.
At 12, the family moved from Florida to Garden City, KS where she would live the rest of her life. Her mom, Pat, would later meet and marry John Walters, who the kids would grow up to know as Dad. She graduated from Garden City High School and went to Garden City Community College.
Linda was Store Manager for Garden True Value, having worked there more than 40 years it was the job she began as a Junior in high school. She was always a friendly face that welcomed everyone with a smile. Linda loved life and making someone’s day a little brighter, whether that be through her distinctive laugh or some random act of kindness. Linda married Gene Greer on MayDay 2010. She enjoyed going to the movies with her husband, playing slots at the casino with her mother, sisters and friends, traveling across the country, and was an avid Broncos Fan. Most of all Linda loved her family, she took great pride in her grandchildren.
Survivors include her Husband- Gene Greer, Children- Timothy Haunschild and wife Brittany; Kaitlin Woods, Grandchildren- Zayden, Shealynn, Owyn, Carsyn, BritLynn, Jakobe, Brayden, Preston, Mason, and Parker, Sister- Tami Wells and husband Patrick, Brother- Michael Hoezee.
She is preceded in death by her Parents- John and Pat Walters; Melvin Hoezee, and one Sister- Kathy Jo Winter.
Funeral Service will be at 10:30 am Monday January 16, 2023 at the Church of the Brethren with Rev. Bob Bates and Pastor Von Hunn officiating. Burial will follow in Valley View Cemetery. Visitation will take place Sunday January 15, 2023 from 1:00 to 8:00 pm at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas. Memorial Contributions are suggested to the Church of the Brethren in care of Garnand Funeral Home.
