Lawrence “Lencho” Garcia, 75, died July 21, 2022 at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas. He was born May 21, 1947 the son of Alfonso and Helen (Perez) Garcia. He married Veronica Orozco on September 28, 1964 in Garden City. His beloved Roni died on March 13, 2014.

Mr Garcia was a lifetime Garden City resident. Memberships included St Mary Catholic Church. He was employed at Monfort as a Supervisor in the Hides Department for many years. He enjoyed dancing, playing and coaching softball, listening to music, watching classic movies and WWE wrestling, and cruising. He was a giving man, of his time and love. He was a lifelong caregiver of his brother Gerald, who was never made to feel a burden. The true joy he got out of his life involved spending time with his family and watching his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren grow.

Survivors include his children-Lawrence Garcia Jr.-(Fowler, KS), Charlotte Gomez (Reuben Gomez-Garden City, KS) , Richard Garcia (Keri Garcia-Garden City, KS), Giles Garcia (Victoria Garcia-Lawrence, KS), Vincent Garcia, and Alan Garcia; 32 Grandchildren; 67 great grandchildren & siblings-Lugarda “Luggie” Garcia and Gerald Garcia.

In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by his son-Joshua Garcia and sister Delores Gomez.

Visitation will be held 9:00 am -5:00pm Friday July 29, 2022 at Garnand Funeral Home. A Rosary will follow 7:00 pm at St Mary Catholic Church. A Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 am Saturday July 30, 2022 also at St Mary Catholic Church with Father Jacob Schneider as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery.
