Obituary for Larry G. Miller

Larry G. Miller, 84, died Sunday, March 26, 2023, at Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was born May 13, 1938, in Garden City, Kansas, the son of Alvin Charles Henry & Agnes Helenia (Tiemeyer) Miller.

Larry grew up on a farm near Ingalls, Kansas. He attended Ingalls schools and Graduated from High School in 1956. He then attended St. Mary of the Plains College in Dodge City, Kansas. Larry served in the United States Army from 1960 to 1966. On February 7, 1966, he married Anna Marlene Rohling in Ingalls, Kansas. They lived in Ingalls for a short time before moving to Great Bend, Kansas in 1968. Larry worked at Dresser Atlas Oil Field Operations. In 1982, they moved back to Ingalls where Larry worked in farming. He then worked for the Gray County Road Department until his retirement in 2000. Larry and his wife moved to Garden City in 2015 where they have lived since.

He was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church in Garden City; a member of the Ingalls Knights of Columbus; and an auxiliary member of the Legion of Mary Church of the Nativity in Burke, Virginia. He enjoyed handyman work around the house, making rosaries, and singing.

Survivors include his wife A. Marlene Miller of the home; children Debra Miller of Garden City, KS, Elaine (Ted) Ivy of Frisco, TX, Annette (Jason) Trober of Wichita, KS, and Andy (Ericka) Miller of Austin, TX; a granddaughter Emily Pietersz of Frisco, TX; and two sisters Georgiann Keller of San Jose, CA, and Jane Hamilton of Lorton, VA. Larry is preceded in death by his parents; a son Chris Miller; and a brother Melvin Miller.

A Vigil Service & Rosary will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, March 31, 2023, at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Garden City. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 1, 2023, also at St. Dominic Catholic Church with Rev. Warren Stecklein as Celebrant. Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 1, at the Cimarron Cemetery in Cimarron, Kansas. Friends may call from Noon to 5:00 p.m. on Friday at Garnand Funeral Home.
