Obituary for Keith Collins

Keith Collins, age 66, died Saturday, March 5, 2022, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas. He was born July 11, 1955, in Garden City, Kansas, to Robert and Patricia Collins.

Keith grew up in Garden City. He graduated from Garden City High School, then went on to attend Garden City Community College where he studied criminal justice. After graduating the police academy in Great Bend, Kansas, Keith worked as a police officer in Hoisington, Kansas. After moving back to Garden City, Keith opened Prestige Laundry in Garden City and Liberal, Kansas. He took a few years working and living in Denver and Dallas before realizing that Garden City was his home. Upon returning to his hometown Keith continued to open and operate several businesses including Prestige Laundry, Advantage Payment Systems, and Green Hills Animal Nutrition. Keith served on the Garden City Traffic Advisory Board and was a member of The Garden City Noon Lions Club. Generous with his time and his heart, he enjoyed his friends, his family, and any child he ever met.

Keith is survived by his wife, Barbara Collins; son Sean Collins, fiancée Kelsey Duncan (incoming grandchild “Bean”); son Shannon Collins; stepdaughter Valarie Hess and fiancée Billy Labrier, (daughter Kinzie, son Austin); stepson Steven and wife Maggie Salinas (son Jasper); sister Robbie Dibble; sister Cindy and husband Randy Waddle, niece Katy and husband Cary Palacio (daughters Kiera and Kaylee); nephew Glen and wife Alisha Dibble (sons Blayton, Jance, and Jaron); nephew Brandon Waddle; and MANY more “adopted” grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Jill Collins and his parents, Pat and Bob Collins.

There will be a Remembrance/Storytime/Roast for Keith at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday March 12th at The Elks Lodge in Garden City, KS. Bring your stories. The Family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be given to Family Crisis Services, 106 W Fulton St, Garden City, KS 67846.
