Obituary for Juan Borrego
Juan Borrego, 71, died May Thursday May 27, 2021 at his home in Garden City, KS. He was born in Laredo, Texas on January 24, 1950 the son of Pablo and Margarita (Garza) Borrego.
Juan was born and raised in Laredo. He traveled as a migrant worker, moved to Garden City in 1990, worked at Tyson for 5 years, later for Weathercraft Roofing before moving to Topeka for 20 years before returning to Garden City in late 2020. He enjoyed spending time outdoors with family and friends. He will be remembered for his quirky sense of humor which he kept until the very end.
He is survived by his ex-wife-Graciela Borrego, Children- Juan (Jackie) Borrego Jr., Juan Ignacio Borrego, Jacquelin (Cesar) Dominguez, Erica (Raynardo) Owens, Lupita (Antonio) Gomez & Jessica Borrego; Sister-Cristina Garcia; 20 Grandchildren & 8 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his Parents-Pablo and Margarita Borrego & Siblings- Pablo Borrego Jr., Ignacio Borrego, Pedro Borrego, Yolanda Costillo, Teresa Carpintier, Rosalinda Borrego, Santos Lopez Medellin & Julia Canales.
Visitation will be held 12:00-8:00 pm Tuesday June 2, 2021 at Garnand Funeral Home. A Rosary will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday June 3, 2021 with Funeral Mass following at 2:00 pm both at St. Mary Catholic Church. Burial will be 2:00 pm Friday June 4, 2021 at Valley View Cemetery. The family suggest memorials to the Juan Borrego Memorial Fund in Care of Garnand Funeral Home, 412 N 7th Street, Garden City, KS. 67846.
