Obituary for Gregory Bribiesca

Holcomb-Gregory Bribiesca 81, passed away at his home in Apache Junction Az on Friday December 25, 2020. He was born October 12, 1939 in Holcomb Kansas, the son of Florencio and Cyrilla (Parra) Bribiesca. He married the love of his life Blanche (Winfrey) May 5, 1958 at St. Marys Catholic Church in Garden City Kansas.

Gregory attended Holcomb Schools, and graduated from Garden City Community College and Missouri Auction School. In 1957 he joined United States Army and served until he was honorably discharge in 1963. After his discharge he worked in sales for Garden City Co-op, was the hardware Manager for Gibson’s Discount Store, was the low income families Executive Director for Kansas Council Of Agricultural Workers, was a salesman for Western Motor Company, was a Foster parent, work at USD 457 School District and after moving to Apache Junction Az in 2005 he was a Gate Security Monitor at Superstition Sunrise RV resort until his death. Gregory was also a proud entrepreneur of Greg’s Shirt Shack, Buy Rite Auction, Blanche’s Daycare and during retirement he owned Greg’s Tick Tocks.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, loved being an auctioneer, traveling, crafts, woodworking, making clocks, shooting pool with his friends, playing BINGO, most of all he loved being a husband to his childhood sweetheart, a father to his children and a grandfather to his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is a member of St. George Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus in Apache Junction; he was a pass member of St. Marys Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus in Garden City Kansas
He is survived by his Daughter- Valerie (Tom) Schuetz of Holcomb, 3 sons-Gregory (Pam) Bribiesca, Jr, and Matthew (Sallie)Bribiesca both of Holcomb, Kansas, and Christopher (Kelly) Bribiesca of Kansas City, Missouri, brother Johnny Bribiesca Sedalia, Missouri, 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He proceeds in death by his parents, wife and two brothers.

Rosary will be at 11:30am and Funeral Mass at 12:00pm at St. Marys Catholic Church on Friday, January 22, 2021. The mass will be available for viewing on Garnand Funeral Home Facebook page. Burial will follow immediately after mass at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City with Military Honors by Kansas Army National Guard Honor Guard and American Legion District 8 Honor Guard. Gregory and Blanche will be buried together on the 4-year anniversary of Blanche’s passing. Memorials are suggested to Emmaus House in care of Garnand Funeral Home.
