Obituary for Glenn F. Gibbs
Glenn F. Gibbs, 85, died Sunday February 6, 2022 at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas. He was born August 10, 1936 in Manchester, Kansas, the son of Glenn Issac and Minnie Rebecca (Linden) Gibbs.
Glenn graduated from Clay County Community High School in 1955. After high school he enlisted in the National Guard and joined the Reserves upon his discharge from active duty. On November 5, 1971 he married Eileen Thurmond in Abilene, Kansas. Glenn made a career for himself in the agricultural industry, first as a farmer for more than 40 years. He then transitioned to truck driving and eventually was the owner/operator of G & E Gibbs Trucking until his retirement.
Survivors include 2 sons- Ben (Sandra) Gibbs of Pflugerville, Texas and Ken E. (Jill) Gibbs of Arkansas City, Kansas, step-daughter- Jolene (Lee) Neufeld of Chandler, Arizona, 5 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife- Eileen Gibbs, son- Rodney Gibbs, and 3 sisters- Verna, Dorthy, and Vera.
