Obituary for George Steve Randle

George Steve Randle, 66 Died Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at his home in Garden City, Kansas. He was born August 22, 1954 in Dumas, Texas the son of Clifford Matt & Delma Mae (Hambleton) Randle.

A True Patriot and Child of God, Steve is survived by his younger sister Delma Diane Henderson of Denver, his older brother Lawrence M. Randle of Washington State, and best friend Dave Novack of Garden City; various cousins throughout Garden City, and several nieces and nephews in Arkansas.

He believed strongly in his responsibility for his family, taking significant time from his own life to care for his mother and brother in Arkansas in their time of need. Steve also made sure to be in Washington State when his father was ill. He was curious about all things and was born to be an adventurer. Steve was a nonconformist. Preferring to make his own choices in all things. Living his life in the manner he chose.

Steve was a Randle throwback. A Kansas throwback. Hurting no one and helping anyone he could.

Steve was a kind man. A good man. A happy playful man and those who knew him, loved him. Those who didn't missed a great opportunity.

He was an avid reader by the age of 8. As an adult, Steve became a seeker of knowledge in all things.

Steve spent his early life in Billings, Montana wandering the wilderness of the East Rosebud River on weekends. He moved with his family to Denver when he was an early teen. He met his wife Ramona while serving in the military in Colorado Springs. After a few years in Denver they moved to Washington State to live on a sailboat he had purchased. Steve and Mona eventually divorced but she remained his one true love. Neither one remarried.

During his time in Denver, Steve worked as a tire retreader, mechanic and lastly for the City of Denver before moving on to Washington State. After many wonderful years in Washington State, Steve briefly came back to Colorado. His heart was then drawn back to Garden City and his generational family ties. Steve built a successful wiping business, forming strong relationships with farmers and ranchers in the area. He became a well-liked and well-respected businessman.

Loving and serving his family, friends, neighbors and dogs, relishing the beauty of Kansas for many years. Once Steve completed the tasks that the Lord had set for him, George Steve Randle was called home to the Lord.

A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City with Bob Bates officiating. A private family interment will take place at a later date. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials given to the Finney County Humane society in care of the funeral home.
