Gary E. Plankenhorn, 70, died Saturday October 29, 2022 at his home in Garden City, Kansas. He was born May 27, 1952 in Garden City the son of Lonnie and Ruth Ann (Duvall) Plankenhorn.
Gary was a lifetime Garden City resident. Gary could talk to anybody about anything, and loved a good debate. He loved to spend time with his family and friends. Gary was an Avid Horse Trainer and Trader. He had an innate connection with them. His Family and Friends will miss his Heartfelt Hugs and I Love You’s!
He is survived by his longtime Companion-Sherri Roth; Children-Kelsey (James) Pryor, Loni (AAron) Chagnon, Logan Plankenhorn & Mason Plankenhorn; grandchildren-Adrianna Pryor, Caleb Pryor, Kiersten Pryor, Berkeley Brown, Faith Chagnon, Rylee Chagnon, & Jack Plankenhorn; Siblings-Mike (Velda) Plankenhorn, Linda (Mark) Hinde, Lori (Dean) Parker, Scott (Julia) Plankenhorn & Jennifer (Barton) Truelove; Nieces/Nephews-Josh, Ryan, Tyrel, Evan, Danielle, Nicole, Tyler, Tiffanye, Lindsey, Darcy, Dalton, Walyne, Shane, Cassi, Lindi & numerous Great Nieces and Nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents-Lonnie & Ruth Ann Plankenhorn, brother-Ronnie Plankenhorn & daughter-Sara Plankenhorn.
Per Gary’s wishes, there will not be any formal services. There will be a small gathering for family and friends on Monday November 7, 2022 from 3pm-7pm at the Downer Residence located at 707 W Maple, Garden City, KS 67846. The family suggests memorials to the Finney County Humane Society in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 412 N 7th Street, Garden City, KS. 67846. 620-276-3219
