Obituary for Frank E. Romine

Garden City- Frank E. Romine, 97, died on Monday, January 9, 2023 at Homestead Assisted Living in Garden City. He was born on June 13, 1925 at Ashland the son of Roscoe E. & Dorothy M. (Kees) Romine. He married Lola Mae Reece on May 7, 1949 in Texas. She died on July 22, 2016.

Frank was a lifelong Garden City resident. He volunteered for the United States Navy at age 17 and served during World War II.. After his discharge he returned to Garden City and worked as a carpenter and attended Garden City Community College. He then began a 29 year career with Northern Natural Gas Company in the Engine House. After retiring he drove cars for Enterprise. He was a member of First Christian Church, Lifetime Member of John J. Haskell VFW Post # 2279 and was a 32nd Degree Member of the Mason Consistory. His special interest was woodworking.

He is survived by his Daughter- Debra “Debbie” & Bruce Mullins of Mt. Vernon, Indiana, 3 Grandchildren- Matt & Becky Mullins of Haven, Stephen & Sarah Mullins of Tucson, Arizona and Amanda & Brad Addington of Mt. Vernon, Indiana and 7 Great-Grandchildren- Denton Mullins, Chase Mullins, Jack Mullins, Hunter Mullins, Anna Mullins, Clayton Addington & Isaac Addington.

Funeral Service will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City with Rev Bill Stapleton officiating. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery in Garden City with military honors by United States Navy Honor Guard and American Legion District 8 Honor Guard. Friends may call from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday and 9:00 AM to service time Wednesday at Garnand Funeral Home.
