Obituary for Filimon Rodriquez Jr.
Filimon Rodriguez Jr, 51, died January 9, 2022 at KU Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas. He was born May 17, 1970 in Pharr, Texas the son of Filimon Rodriquez and Isabel Gomez.
Filimon grew up and graduated from schools in Goodland. It was there that he met his future wife Sylvia. They married on April 2, 1988. They raised two respectful, successful children and had the privilege of welcoming two adorable grandchildren into their tight knit family circle. He enjoyed working out, watching Bruce Lee movies and cheering on the Dallas Cowboys. His heart held a special love and affection for his beloved past and present pets- Freedom, Buddy, April, Zeke, Dallas and Troy & grandpups Dak and Melo. He was a member of Cornerstone Church.
In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his children- Brittnee Arianna (Jorge) Cruz and Brandon Reece; grandchildren- Adreah Skye and Shia Rey Cruz; mother-Isabel (Ernesto) Quintana; siblings-Rene (Gloria) Rodriquez, Mary Ann (John) Seguro, Anita (Jacinto) Gomez, Anabel Rodriquez and Connie Rodriquez; mother-in-law- Paula Garate & father-in-law-Eloy Espinosa.
A Celebration of Life will be held 2:00 pm Monday January 17, 2022 at Cornerstone Church with burial to follow at Valley View Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 11:00 am to service time. The family suggests memorials to the Filimon Rodriguez Memorial Fund in Care of Garnand Funeral Home, 412 N 7th Street, Garden City, KS. 67846. 620-276-3219.
