Felisa Garcia, 79, died Sunday, November 22, 2020 at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas. She was born May 4, 1941 in Oxnard, California the daughter of Gregory & Inez (Avila) Mujica.
Felisa moved to Garden City with her family when she was a young child. She attended Garden City schools and graduated from Garden City High School. On January 31, 1959, she married Tony Garcia, Sr. in Garden City. Felisa worked most of her life as a sales clerk at Christopher and Banks, Conrads, and Little Britches. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. She loved gardening, shopping, cooking, baking, and spending time with her family.
Survivors include two daughters Chris Garcia and Stephanie & husband James Grantham both of Dallas, Texas; a brother Gregory & wife Benita Mujica of Garden City, Kansas; four grandchildren Denise Hundertmark, Anthony Garcia III, Alicia Garcia, & James Garcia; and seven great-grandchildren Jonathan Burback, Angelo Burback, Christopher Burback, Olivia Stogner, Tristan Nanninga, Devin Hundertmark, & Nathan Hundertmark.
Felisa is preceded in death by her husband Tony Garcia, Sr. who died on November 6, 2020. She is also preceded in death by a son Tony James Garcia who died on November 1, 2020; a grandson Robert Jerel Hernandez; three brothers Alex Mujica, Daniel Mujica, & Rufus Mujica; and three sisters Carmen Leon, Eloise Garcia, & Ramona Munoz.
A Vigil service and Rosary will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 3, 2020 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Garden City. Funeral Mass will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, December 4, 2020 also at St. Mary Catholic Church in Garden City with Fr. Jacob Schneider as Celebrant. The funeral Mass may also be viewed on Facebook Live on the Garnand Funeral Home Facebook page. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City. Friends may call from Noon to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City. The family suggests memorials given to St. Mary Catholic Church or to Garden Valley Church both in care of the funeral home.
