Obituary for Felicia Arteaga
Felicia Arteaga Vda De Acuña, 87, died Sunday, May 2, 2021 at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in Wichita, Kansas. She was born November 18, 1933 in Jauja, Peru the daughter of Maximo Arteaga & Petronila Palacios.
Felicia was raised in Lima, Peru. On February 28, 1957 she married Pablo Acuña in Lima, where they raised their two children. After his passing in 2006 she relocated to Garden City, KS with her daughter Alina and son-in-law, Colt. Felicia loved spending time outdoors and gardening. Felicia was a devout Catholic and until her last days she kept praying and spreading God’s teachings to everyone she met. She enjoyed doing word search and spending time with her family and friends, whom she also considered like family.
Survivors includes a daughter Alina & Colt Cuenca of Garden City, KS; a son Cesar Acuña of Chile. Grandchildren; Diana Acuña of Winston-Salem, NC, Aldo, Alina and Aracelli Acuña of Lima, Peru, Paola, Raquel, Cesar and Freddy Acuña of Chile, and 7 Great-Grandchildren. Felicia is preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
A Rosary will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday May 9, 2021 at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City. Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday May 10, 2021 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Garden City with Fr. Jacob Schneider as Celebrant. The Funeral mass may also be viewed on Facebook Live on the Garnand Funeral Home Facebook Page.
Burial will follow at Deerfield Cemetery. Friends may call for 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday at Garnand Funeral Home. The family suggests that memorials be given to Felicia Arteaga Memorial Fund or Operation Smiles in care of the Funeral Home.
