Obituary for Ezequiel "Zeke" Ledesma
Ezequiel “Zeke” Ledesma Jr., 70 died Wednesday October 21, 2020 at his home in Garden City, Kansas. He was born August 5, 1950 the son of Ezequiel and Remedios (Bribiesca) Ledesma in Garden City, Kansas.
Zeke was a lifetime Garden City resident. He married Alice Delgado on December 18, 1969 in Garden City. She survives. They were fortunate enough to have celebrated over 50 years of family, laughter and love. He had worked in the beef packing industry, starting as a laborer and working his way up to supervisor. He and Alice owned “The Bar” and because of this business venture they made life long friends they considered family. His favorite hobby was fishing. One of his nephews will be forever grateful to him for teaching him to fish and the true meaning of the quote ”Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.” He was a wonderful husband, father, brother, son, grandfather… but his greatest title was “Hero”.
Survivors include his wife-Alice Ledesma; Children-Janel Ledesma, Ezequiel (Janelle) Ledesma III, & Hector Ledesma (Stana Rose); Grandchildren-Ashley Bazan, Michael Bazan, Amanda Bazan-Nesbitt, Nicole Bazan, Dylan Bazan, Alyssa Ledesma, Zeke Ledesma, Zoe Rose, Autumn Ledesma, Aubrey Ledesma & Charlotte Ledesma; Great-Grandchildren- Emma Nesbitt, Kinlee Nesbitt, Olivia Wesley, Penelope Wesley & Harper Bazan; Siblings-Regina (Jesse) Ledesma, Gerard Ledesma, Patsy Ledesma, Jesse Ledesma, Beatrice Ledesma & Roni Ledesma; & numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his Parents and Son-Robert Ledesma.
A Funeral Service will be held 1:00 pm Tuesday October 27, 2020 at the First United Methodist Church in Garden City with Pastor Joel Plisek officiating. Visitation will be 11:00 am to 8:00pm Monday October 26, 2020 at Garnand Funeral Home, 412 N 7th Street, Garden City, KS. The family suggests memorials to the Ezequiel Ledesma Memorial Fund in Care of Garnand Funeral Home
