Elizabeth C. “Betty” Hineman, 90, died Thursday March 31, 2022 at Lane County Hospital in Dighton, Kansas. She was born August 31, 1931 in LaCrosse, Kansas the daughter of Paul and Esther Viola (Haller) Yost.

She grew up in Dighton, Kansas, and graduated from there. She attended college at South Western and K-State. She was a K-State Singer as was her future husband. She married Herbert T. Hineman on February 25, 1951 and to this union four children were born. Betty took great pride in her home and poured a lot of love into it. She enjoyed playing the piano; her family fondly remembers the sounds of music filling her home. She also loved Saturday Night Supper Club, Bridge Club, and attending her children and grandchildren’s activities. She was a constant happy and positive influence in the lives of everyone who knew her.

Survivors include her Daughters- Jeanie (Randy) Caprez of Russell, Kansas, Ann (Gerald) Fay of Dighton, Kansas, Granddaughters- Elizabeth Fay of Dighton and Joanna Kerby of Wichita Step-Granddaughters- Mechelle Caprez of Hutchinson, Tenille Kimberlin of Holton, and 7 Great-Grandchildren.

Betty is preceded in death by her Parents, Daughter- Ellen Hineman, and Son- Jeff Hineman.

Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 am Saturday April 9, 2022 at the United Methodist Church, burial will follow in Dighton Memorial Cemetery. Services will also be available via Facebook Live via the Garnand Funeral Home Facebook Page. Memorial contributions are suggested to Lane County Library- in care of Boomhower Funeral Home.
