Obituary for Elijio "Alex" Luna

Leoti--Elijio “Alex” Luna was born on 12/1/1935 in Greeley, CO to Pantalion and Maria (Silva) Luna. He passed away February 15th, 2022 with his son Gail, daughter Susan, and grandson Christian by his side in Garden City, Kansas at the age of 86 years old.

Alex had two main passions, being outdoors and working with giant machinery. He was an avid car collector, and knew well how to work a backhoe, skid steer, dump truck, you name it; he knew it and probably had one. We were amazed to hear of the numerous places he had helped dig/build in Ft. Collins and Loveland, CO, as well as, in the Cheyenne, WY area. (CSU Vet Hospital, the federal building, and Kodak, to name a few.) Speaking of animals, they loved Alex and would follow him like he was the pied piper. Everyone knew Alex and he was a friend to all.

Alex was preceded in death by his parents, and his siblings: Eufemia Luna, Elias “Lee” Luna, Aurelia Duran, Inez Garcia, Mary Luna, Evarista Owens, and Monica Garcia.

He is survived by his son Kerry Luna, his son Gail Luna, and his daughter, Susan Luna-Stephens. His grandchildren, Andrew and Christian Stephens; Stevi Hoffner, Kristopher and Alexandra Luna; and his great grandchildren, Gauge and Ransom Hoffner; siblings Jackie Snider, Severa Trevino, and Senerina LaFeber.

A Celebration of Life will be held later in the summer of 2022.
