Elena Rangel de Almanza, died November 3, 2022 at KU Medical Center in Kansas City. She was born March 12, 1946 in Loma de Zempoala, Guanajuato, Mexico the daughter of Antonio Rangel and Carmen Nieto.

Elena grew up in Mexico and came to the United States in 1996. She met her husband Manuel when they were just teenagers as they carried water from the river to their small village. Their fifty-eight years of marriage consisted of raising children and working together to build a better life for them. She was opinionated, independent, but still had a soft side. Her thoughts and actions revolved around her family and she put their needs above her own.

She is survived by her Husband-Manuel Almanza; Children-Salvador (Juana) Almanza, Beronica (Rafael) Almanza, Ma Elena (Jorge) Almanza, Manuel (Ma Consuelo) Almanza & Ivan (Michele) Almanza; 13 Grandchildren; 6 Great Grandchildren; Siblings-Rafael Rangel, Antonio Rangel, Merced Rangel, Nicolas Rangel, Juan Rangel, Carmen Rangel, Guadalupe Rangel & Maria de Jesus Rangel. She was preceded in death by her Parents; Children- Jose Almanza & Ma Elena Almanza & Siblings-Manuel Rangel, Rosa Rangel & Merced Rangel.

Visitation will take place 10:00 am-5:00 pm Tuesday November 8, 2022 at Garnand Funeral Home followed by a Rosary at 7:30 at St Mary Catholic Church. A Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 am Wednesday November 9, 2022 also at St Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Jacob Schneider as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery.
