Donald Hertel, 93, died Sunday, May 23, 2021 at Garden Valley Retirement Village in Garden City, Kansas. He was born July 27, 1927 in Hays, Kansas the son of Henry Hertel, Sr. and Ruby Pearl (Payne) Hertel.

He is survived by his wife Genevieve Hertel; a daughter Connie (Jim) Henry; a son Daryl (Sue) Hertel; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Donald is preceded in death by his parents; and four sons Lester, Eugene, Melvin, and Mark Hertel.

A memorial service and interment will take place at a later date. There will be no calling hours.
