Obituary for David Darin Eastman

David Darin Eastman, (59) lost his battle with life on Sunday, April 10th, 2022, in Garden City, Kansas. He has now been reunited with his dad and his beloved companions Duchess and Skidboot.

David is the son of Nelva and the late Don Eastman. He was born on June 20, 1962, in Garden City, Kansas. He attended Garden City schools and was a lifetime member of First Christian Church, Garden City. While he wasn’t known for sitting in church these last several years, he was known for stepping up and helping with funeral dinners, Navajo Taco Dinners and helping his sister with property duties around the church.

David lived in Garden City until the early 90’s, he then moved to Wichita, Kansas. While in Wichita he took up the hobby of building amazing wood decks and patio coverings. In 2009 David returned to Garden City where he continued his love of carpentry and creating amazing decks.

David had a love for horses and team roping. He loved attending races at Airport Raceway in Garden City, being in the pits and helping with the race cars, and it is no secret how he felt about his Kansas City Chiefs.

David is survived by his mother Nelva Eastman of Garden City, Kansas, (2) daughters Jessica Hunt and Cory (JD) Penn, both of Chandler, Oklahoma, (5) grandchildren, (2) sisters, Nancy (Brad) Thompson of Springfield, Ohio and LaVetta Eastman of Garden City, Kansas, Niece Heather (Nick)Harvey of Beavercreek, Ohio, Nephew Christopher Thompson of Georgetown, Kentucky and (2) Great Nieces.

David is preceded in death by his father Don Eastman, grandparents, Vernon and Mary Gaylord, and Claude and Bernice Eastman.

There will be a Celebration of Life at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 27th, 2022, at 10:30am at First Christian Church in Garden City, Kansas. Memorials are suggested to the David Eastman Memorial in care of Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City
