Obituary for Carolyn Sue Murray
Garden City- Carolyn Sue Murray, 77, died on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at her home in Andover. She was born on January 30, 1944 at Tipton, Oklahoma the daughter of Olen Edd & Reta (Guinn) Davis. She married Richard “Dick” Murray on December 22, 1979 at Lakin.
Carolyn graduated from Holcomb High School and the Cosmetology Program at Garden City Community College. She was the owner-operator of Carolyn’s Hair Corner in Garden City for many years. She and her husband were also foster parents for over twenty years. They moved to Andover in 2006. Carolyn attended the Hope Community Church in Andover. She enjoyed cooking, shopping, crocheting, pedicures going on vacations and the Davis Family Reunions.
She is survived by her Husband- Richard “Dick” Murray, Children- Donnie Towns of Baldwin, Michelle Munsch and Travis Towns both of Andover, Nancy Johnson of Haysville and Debbie Walker of Ladson, South Carolina, Brother- Charles Davis of Lakin, Sister- Sammie Dart of Wichita, 4 Grandchildren and 4 Great-Grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her Parents, Brother- Steven Davis, Daughter-In-Law- Kimberly Towns and Nephew- Shafer Dart.
Funeral Service will be at 2:00 PM Friday at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City with Pastor Terry Engler officiating. The service will be on Facebook Live on the Garnand Funeral Home facebook. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery in Garden City. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Carolyn Murray Memorial Fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home. Friends may call from Noon to 8:00 PM Thursday with family present from 4:00 to 7:00 PM and Noon to Service time Friday at Garnand Funeral Home.
