Obituary for Carol Jean Vanatta
Carol Jean Vanatta, 65, died Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City. She was born December 16, 1957, in Fort Bragg, North Carolina the daughter of Larry & Shirley Klotz.
Carol was raised in Liberal and graduated from Holcomb High School in 1975. She graduated from Dodge City Community College and became a Registered Nurse. Her hobbies were cooking, cleaning, and traveling. She loved listening to country music.
Survivors include her Son- Casey Vanatta of Lamberton, MN, Siblings- Barbara Huddleston of Scottsdale, AZ, Doug & Susan Dubose, Victor & Christie Klotz of Holcomb, Ks, Lisa & Brad Schimke of Garden City, Ks. She is preceded in death by her Husband- Ralph Eugene Vanatta, Parents- Larry & Shirley Klotz and her Brother- Gary Lee Klotz.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. There is no visitation. The family suggest memorials be given to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in care of Garnand Funeral Home, condolences may be posted at www.garnandfuneralhomes.com
