Obituary for Carlos R. Morales

Carlos R. Morales, 56, died Thursday, November 19, 2020 at St. Francis Medical Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was born February 22, 1964 in Pecos, Texas the son of Victor & Guadalupe (Rodriquez) Morales.

Carlos moved with his family to Garden City when he was a child. He attended Garden City schools and graduated from Garden City High School. From 1982 to 1988, Carlos served in the Army National Guard. He worked most of his career as a truck driver and for many of those years, he worked at IBP and Tyson. Carlos also served as a volunteer fireman in Holcomb. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and also enjoyed traveling.

Survivors include his three children Allison & husband Hugo Esquivel of Garden City, Ryan Morales of Wichita, Kansas, and Adan Morales of Belmont, Michigan; five siblings Rosemary Calderon of Garden City, Kansas, Roy Morales of Aurora, Colorado, Sandra Duran of Garden City, Kansas, Isabel Sanchez of Garden City, Kansas, & Esmeralda Solorzano of Garden City, Kansas; and two grandchildren Ezra Esquivel and Avery Esquivel; Carlos is preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December 11, 2020 at the First United Methodist Church in Garden City with Rev. Joel Plisek officiating. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City with military rites conducted by the Kansas Army National Guard Honor Guard. There will be no calling hours. The family suggests memorials given to the Carlos Morales Memorial Fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home of Garden City.
