Obituary for Brooklyn Shayne Stimatze
Brooklyn Shayne Stimatze, 23, died Friday, September 18, 2020 at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas. She was born November 27, 1996 in Garden City, Kansas the daughter of Darrin & Janelle (Harbour) Stimatze.
Brooklyn grew up in Garden City as a young child. In 2003, she moved with her family to Conway, South Carolina. In 2010, they moved back to Garden City where they have lived since. Brooklyn attended schools in both Garden City and Conway. She then attended Garden City Community College. She has worked as a CNA in Conway, South Carolina, St. Catherine Hospital, Kearny County Hospital, and Homestead Health and Rehabilitation. Brooklyn enjoyed music, shopping, going out to eat, and loved to spend time with her children and family.
Survivors include her two children Sebastian and Keatyn both of Garden City; her parent Darrin & Janelle Stimatze of Garden City; two sisters Bailey Stimatze of Garden City and Treva Van Auken of Wichita, Kansas; a brother Gavin Stimatze of Garden City; her grandparents Larry & Amanda Stimatze of Garden City and Jack & Sharon Harbour of Green Sea, South Carolina; and many cousins. She is preceded in death by a niece Kendall Rae.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at Cornerstone Church in Garden City with Pastor Raul Silva officiating. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City. Friends may call from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday and from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday all at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City. The family suggests memorials given to the Brooklyn Stimatze Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
