Obituary for Brenda Kay Villa (Rojas)

Brenda died July 27th, 2022, at her home in Garden City, KS. She was born December 4th, 1956, to Bart and Mary Rojas. Ms. Villa was a lifetime resident of Garden City and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She was a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Brenda was one of a kind, she had a great sense of humor with a unique laugh. Prior to a stroke she suffered in 2010, Brenda enjoyed cooking and baking, she made the best bierocks and cinnamon rolls. Brenda was a giver and a helper; she would give or share whatever she had to anyone that asked.

She loved reading romance novels, playing cards and dominoes, listening to music, and has a special love for Ronnie Milsap. She especially loved receiving photos and videos of her great-grandchildren. She was a proud army mother-in-law to her son-in-law, JC, who is currently an active-duty soldier serving overseas.

Brenda was headstrong, funny, and kind, among many other things. She taught her children and grandchildren, bestowing upon them a never-ending sense of endurance and strength. She will be missed greatly and will be remembered by her children and family forever.

She is survived by her children, Billie Culbertson (Clarksville, TN), and Heath Villa (Everett, WA), her siblings, Oletha Cox (Garden City, KS), and Gilbert Rojas (Garden City, KS), her grandchildren, Mariah Mitchell (Clarksville, TN), Mason Culbertson (Tacoma, WA), McKayla Culbertson (Clarksville, TN), Gavin Villa (Dallas, TX) and her great-grandchildren, Beau, Beida, and Bennett LaBeause, and John Thomas Mitchell (Clarksville, TN).

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Jamie Marie Villa; her parents, Bartolo and Mary Rojas; her siblings, Pete Rojas, Gloria Perez, Susie Garcia, Jimmy Rojas, Danny Rojas, and Rosie Beltran; and her nephews Timothy Cox, Gilbert R. Rojas Jr, Dirk Cox, and Kip Rojas.

A Graveside Service will be held at 10:30 A.M. Monday August 1, 2022 at Valley View Cemetery with Rev. Warren Stecklein officiating. There will be no calling hours. The family suggest memorials be given to Brenda Villa Memorial Fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 412 N.7th st., Garden City, Ks 67846.
