Lakin- Brenda Joy Coen, 43, died on Sunday, January 10, 2021 at Kearny County Hospital in Lakin. She was born on October 7, 1977 at Anne Arundel, Maryland the daughter of Ronald & Barbara Jean (Myers) Decker. She married David Gaines, Jr. She later married Robert Coen on June 13, 2013 at Garden City. He died on December 31, 2019.

Brenda grew up in a military family and lived in several places growing up. She attended Garden City High School. She had worked at Wal-Mart, Menards and Home Depot in Garden City and currently was working at Casey’s in Lakin. She enjoyed making candles, knitting but especially her kids and dogs.

She is survived by her 2 Daughters- Paulanne Allen of Lakin and Sky Decker of Garden City, Son- Robert Decker of Lakin, Granddaughter- Ella Culp and Finance Brandon Lorimor of Holcomb. She was preceded in death by her Parents, Son Benjamin Gaines and Sister- Robin.
