Betty J. Sperry, 93, died Tuesday April 11, 2023 at Garden Valley Retirement Village in Garden City, Kansas. She was born December 19, 1929 in Chillicothe, Missouri; the daughter of Delbert Earnest and Georgia Geneva (Rosson) Frizzell.

On a vacation to visit family here in Garden City she met Gerald and decided this is where she would stay. On April 17, 1948 she married Gerald Roy Sperry in Raton, New Mexico. The two of them enjoyed traveling in their motorhome together down to Mission, Texas and were long time members of the Good Sam Club.

Betty was kind hearted and caring; she took great pride in her yard and spent many hours outside working on her lawn and garden. She also enjoyed bowling with her sister Peggy, painting ceramics, and had quite a knack for dog grooming.

Survivors include her Children- Steve (Joycelyn) Sperry of Blossom, Texas; Nanette (Larry) Mishler of Scammon, Kansas; and Brian (Janeine) Sperry of Garden City, Kansas; Grandchildren- Shaliss (Mark) Anthony, Sharise Sperry, Britney Hunsberger, Kaylen Hunsberger, Justin (Joy) Sperry, Brandon Boyd, Ronnie Harmon, Donnie Harmon, Tommie Harmon, and Joe Sperry; 20 Great Grandchildren, 6 Great-Great Grandchildren; Brother- Garland Frizzell of Dayton, Ohio, Sister- Cheryl Unruh of Deerfield, Kansas, Half-Brothers- Wayne Frizzell and James Frizzell.

She is preceded in death by her Husband- Gerald Sperry, Sister- Peggy, and her Parents- Delbert and Georgia Frizzell.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday May 13, 2023 in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Betty Sperry Memorial Fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home. Condolences may be posted by visiting www.garnandfuneralhomes.com
