Betty Jane McLinn, 97, of Garden City, died on Sunday, January 23, 2022, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas. She was born October 30, 1924 in Rural Kearny County, Kansas the daughter of Michael & Rachel (Cooper) Killfoil.

Born in Rural Kearny County, Kansas, Betty has been a longtime resident of Garden City and the Plymell area of Finney County, Kansas. On June 14, 1941, she married Ira McLinn in Cimarron, Kansas. A homemaker, Betty has been a lifetime member of the Turning Point Church of the Nazarene in Garden City. She loved to spend her time babysitting and spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include 3 sons Myrian & wife Carol McLinn, Jr. of Garden City, Kansas, Lonny & wife Debbie McLinn of Bella Vista, Arkansas, and Duane & wife Carolyn McLinn of Garden City, Kansas; 3 daughters Darlene & husband Rick Van Meter of Garden City, Kansas, Pamela & husband Steve Winder of Garden City, Kansas, and Annette & husband Dan Rapp of Salina, Kansas; 13 Grandchildren; and 8 Great Grandchildren. Betty is preceded in death by her husband Ira who died on December 23, 1976. She is also preceded in death by her parents; a son LaVerne McLinn; a daughter Carol Ann Kohl; 3 Brothers Charles Killfoil, Fred Killfoil, & John Killfoil; and 5 sisters Marie George, Nellie Walker, Rose Hands, Edith Whitson, & Beth Lawhead.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at Turning Point Church of the Nazarene in Garden City with Rev. Nathan Haeck officiating. Services may also be viewed on Facebook Live on the Garnand Funeral Home Facebook page. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City. Friends may call from Noon to 8:00 p.m. on Friday at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City. The family suggests memorials given to Turning Point Church of the Nazarene in care of the funeral home.
